AMC - Advanced Mezzanine Card - Carrier FAQsIs the 4mm return spring slot in the Full Size AMC Carrier PCB board always required at the top and bottom locations to accommodate the carrier handle? The return spring slot in the carrier PCB will always be required in both top and bottom. The reason is that the handle uses a slider to provide the rotation lock as well as activate the microswitch. When the microswitch is not used in one or the other position the slider still provides the rotation lock function and therefore requires the return spring. What microswitch do I use on the Full Size AMC carrier and modules? – Panasonic has discontinued their NAIS switches. Please use the following SMK switches.
It is important to note that the handle slider design was also modified to work with the new SMK switch. Please ensure you have the latest handle kit (with slider) if you intend to use the SMK switch with older AMC Carrier handle kits - the older slider version without the cutout window in the side (as shown in the attached file) will not work for the SMK. Did Panasonic phasing out their NAIS Microswitch? How does the Full Size AMC carrier handle interact with the microswitch? Does Schroff have a datasheet on the insulator material used on the inside of the AMC carrier covers? Does Schroff have a datasheet on the EMC Gasketing used on the AMC Modules and Carrier? Schroff uses a patented EMI gasket which allows for the shape, stiffness and size to be optimized for AMC modules and carriers. With this gasket there is nominally no overlapping of the component envelope of the AMC modules PCB. Customers can buy this gasket either from Schroff ( in special length for AMC modules ) or from mtc http://www.mtc.de/en/index.htm. Does Schroff have assembly instructions for the AMC carrier kits? Does Schroff have a Flowtherm model of the AMC Carrier and Modules in an ATCA chassis? What is the difference between the Standard Full Size AMC Carrier handle and the Multi-position handle? Are Schroff's AMC components RoHS compliant? Do you have information of the AMC Carrier connector options?
What torque setting should I use to screw the M2.5 x 3.4mm screws into the struts? Does Schroff's AMC Carrier accommodate a board thicker than the specification allows? Does Schroff's AMC Carrier accommodate a board that is less than 2.4mm thick?
For all standard Carriers we will now use the 4.00mm high bushing which specifically accommodates the 2.4mm PCB specified in AMC.0. It is very important that AMC Carrier designs include the Carrier PCB thickness and tolerance information so that we can specify the correct bushing height. What LEDs are compatible with the AMC Module Quad (AMC.0 Rev 1.0) light pipe? How does the AMC module light pipe attach to the die cast? Also see new LED configuration AMC.0 ECR002. How does the module handle interact with the microswitch? Does Schroff have a datasheet on the EMC Gasketing used on the AMC Modules and Carrier? Does Schroff have assembly instructions for the modules? Does Schroff have a Flowtherm model of the AMC Carrier and Modules in an ATCA chassis? Are Schroff's AMC components RoHS compliant? Yes, all AMC components are RoHS compliant. Has Schroff cycle tested the AMC Modules in a carrier? Does Schroff have a drawing showing the LED placement compliant to AMC.0 ECR 002?
